What is it that makes me just crazy silly happy around certain people?!!! I love these two women . . . I am so grateful to have them in my life! Cherri and Kristin thank you for being you! “Some people make your laugh a little louder, your smile a little brighter, and your life a little better”
Yesterday Kevon and I attended the funeral service of his dear Aunt Clara. It was a blessed time where family and friends came together to celebrate her amazing and charming personality . . . she was truly a beautiful woman. The funeral brought us back to Bemidji. Many memories for Kevon . . . we drove by 1318 Minnesota Avenue – his home at age 10 . . . Puposky Redeemer Lutheran Church – his early childhood church . . . and of course beautiful Lake Bemidji. I was so moved again to see he and his siblings all together . . . their joy to see one another. We can so easily become drawn into the future, especially when we experience the loss of a loved one. Thinking of mortality stirs up emotions within me . . . I believe it guides me to intensify life . . . for me that is being more and more grateful. God has blessed me with so many gifts . . . the love and company of my Kevon, the gift of being a mother – oh how I love those children, my family, dear friends, and His amazing creation. “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be so glad in it” . . . Psalm 118:24
Yesterday Kevon and I took care of Rose! She came over for the whole day! Went for walks, cuddled on the couch, watched the birds, and even went down to HOWL for a treat! What a beautiful dog . . . I have always felt that petting a dog is the very best form of stress release . . . today I am very relaxed . . . thank you Rose!
Bayfield was full of dogs this weekend! Yes!!! The Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race is one of the best winter events! Today was so much fun watching the dogs come through the finish line (and Greta)! Food, bonfire, and dogs . . . perfect!!! Kevon was happy to have his fish chowder from the Village Inn!
